About

About the West Indy Winds

West Indy Winds is the newest community band in central Indiana.  Formed in 2018, our band is comprised of members of all ages and experience levels.  We strive to provide our members with the opportunity to continue their life-long love of music in terms of musicality, comradery, and community engagement.

The scope of West Indy Winds transcends the rehearsal room.  Through music and service, we seek to enrich the state of music in the western Indianapolis area.  In addition to providing a quality community ensemble for the musicians in the band, the West Indy Winds sponsors service projects and opportunities for the school music programs on Indy’s west side.  One way we do this is by providing scholarships to local area schools to aid students with their band fees.

The West Indy Winds is the perfect ensemble for any of the following: working adults who are looking for ways to keep playing while balancing a professional and family life, students looking to experience music outside of their band program, professional musicians wanting to expand their horizons, and those who are looking to start playing again after putting their instrument away for an extended period of time.

We are always accepting new members and we would love to have you visit and see what we’re all about.
